James Askew is a mining engineer with over 40 years of broad international experience as a director and chief executive for a wide range of Australian and international public listed mining, mining finance and other mining related companies. He also has extensive technical expertise in open pit and underground mines including design, construction and operations.

Mr Askew served on the boards of numerous resource public companies and was chair of OceanaGold (since November 2006) and Syrah Resources. He is also a non-executive director of Endeavour Mining Corporation.
