Jacob Deysel has close to 20 years of experience in the heavy minerals industry and substantial executive, mining & project development experience across numerous commodities in Africa, South America, Europe and Australia.
Mr Deysel will become chief executive of Mineral Commodities in October 2021. Prior to that, he spent over 2 years with Newmont Australia, was vice president of the titanium division of Uranium Energy Corp, operations director and chief operations officer of Kenmare Resources (one of the world’s largest mineral sands producers), general manager of Rio Tinto’s Richards Bay Minerals (the world’s largest single producer of titanium feedstocks), and held senior positions with Gold Fields in South Africa.
Mr Deysel holds a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) in Mining Engineering and an MBA (with Distinction), both from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He is a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
