Ita Buttrose
Ita Buttrose AC OBE is an Australian journalist, businesswoman, television personality and author.
She was the founding editor of high-circulation magazine Cleo, and was the youngest person to be appointed editor of the Australian Women's Weekly.
Ms Buttrose was a panelist on the Network Ten morning program Studio 10 from 2013 until 2018.
In 2019, Prime Minister Scott Morrison appointed Ms Buttrose as chair of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Ms Buttrose was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1979, an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1988, Australian of the Year in 2013, and a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2019. She was also inducted to the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2001, awarded the Centenary Medal in 2003, and recognised for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement at the annual Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism in 2017.
