Ian Gordon is a partner in Hogan Lovell's Perth office and part of the company's international energy, resources and projects team. His practice covers oil & gas, mining, power, construction, project finance and environmental law matters. Mr Gordon has extensive experience in a broad range of projects including acquisitions and divestments in a number of noteworthy LNG and mining projects located in Australia and overseas. He mainly advises overseas and local clients on their Australian investments but has also worked on some significant petroleum and mining transactions in a number of different jurisdictions, having spent a substantial amount of time based in Japan. Mr Gordon has experience negotiating and drafting a broad range of project agreements including unitisation, JVA/JOA and management agreements, off-take and supply contracts (for LNG, gas and minerals), lifting and balancing agreements, transportation agreements, marketing agreements, royalty agreements, access agreements, electricity contracts and EPC contracts. He also advises on petroleum and mining regulatory issues as well as FIRB investment approval. Mr Gordon is named in Energy, Natural Resources & Mining lawyers – Who's Who Legal – Australia 2017.
