Ian Booth was the chief executive of ScreenWest from May 2007 to December 2017, taking on the role during a period of great expansion in the Western Australian film industry. He stepped into the role from co-producing the adult drama series Marx and Venus, delivered to SBS in early 2007, and the half-hour drama Hidden Creatures which screened across the international festival circuit.
Mr Booth's previous position at the ABC in Melbourne as business affairs manager for drama and comedy saw him working on projects including Kath & Kim, MDA, The Glasshouse, Enough Rope, The Shark Net, Marking Time and many others. Prior to the ABC, he was the business affairs manager of Screenwest for 3 years.
Mr Booth will become chief executive of Black Swan State Theatre Company in May 2022.
