ASIC fines ASX $1.05m
ASX Limited has been fined more than $1 million after the corporate watchdog found the market operator breached a transparency rule 8,417 times.
Helen Lofthouse is an accomplished financial markets executive with over 20 years of experience in cash equity and debt markets, listed and OTC derivatives, clearing and settlement services.
Ms Lofthouse joined the ASX in September 2015 as a member of the executive leadership team. She was an executive general manager of derivatives and OTC markets, group executive for markets in July 2021, and chief executive & managing director in August 2022. She is chair of ASX’s Wellbeing networking group, which promotes physical and mental wellbeing through employee participation and community connection.
Prior to joining the ASX, Ms Lofthouse was the managing director at UBS for almost 4 years and was responsible globally for the OTC Clearing business, and was head of clearing and execution sales in Europe. She had also spent over 13 years at JPMorgan in London, in various areas including futures and OTC clearing, derivatives prime brokerage and credit markets.
Ms Lofthouse was included in the World Federation of Exchanges list of Women Leaders for 2021.

ASX Limited has been fined more than $1 million after the corporate watchdog found the market operator breached a transparency rule 8,417 times.
Corporate regulators have called on the local bourse to put the “highest priority” on resolving the underlying issues that led to a settlement system failure in 2024.
