Heather Chong is the chief executive of Qew Orchards. She is also an independent director of an ASX-listed property development company. Ms Chong has board experience and sits on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, holds a number of offices in non-profit organisations including NRM South and Asthma Foundation of Tasmania. She is the president of the Rotary Club of Hobart. Ms Chong is an Alderman on Clarence City Council. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Tasmania) Council. Ms Chong was chair of the Food Industry Council of Tasmania and Summerfruit Auatralia and the Tasmania Government Representative on the national Food Safety Centre. She also has experience in Asia having served as chief accountant for a construction companies in Hong Kong and as a senior executive. Ms Chong is the recipient of the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporations Rural Women's Award for Tasmania (2005), the Westpac Group Business Owners Award for Tasmania, and the Telstra Tasmania Business Woman of the Year (2003).
