Dr Harold Clough OBE AO joined his father’s engineering and construction company (Clough Engineering Group) after completing a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University of California on a Fulbright Scholarship. He served as managing director of Clough Limited until 1988 and chair until late 2002, and was chair of McRae Investments.

His professional associations included bring president of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia, senate member of the University of Western Australia, and member of the Australia-Indonesia Institute.

Dr Clough was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1979, and an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1990. He was also named WA Citizen of the Year in Industry and Commerce in 1983, and was the first recipient of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ gold medal award for WA in 1994.

Dr Clough passed away in January 2022.
