Guy Cowan has been appointed non-executive director of Santos since 10 May 2016, and is also chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Mr Cowan is also chair of Queensland Sugar Limited and a director of UGL Limited where he chairs the Health and Safety Committee.
He was director of Coffey International and Ludowici Limited where he chaired the Audit and Risk Committees for both companies, and became Shell appointed alternative director of Woodside between 1992 and 1995. Mr Cowan had a 23-year career with Shell International in various senior commercial and financial roles. His last two roles were as chief financial officer and director of Shell Oil US and chief financial officer of Shell Nigeria. He was also chief financial officer of Fonterra Co-operative between 2005 and 2009.
