Dr Guido Arnout was the chief executive of 4DS Memory from December 2013 to March 2022 before transitioning to a non-executive director.
Dr Arnout was founding president & chief executive of PowerEscape which introduced the first tools for the development of low-power software executing on multi-core devices. He was also the founding president & chief executive of CoWare which pioneered system-level design tools for hardware-software co-design and the time-based licensing business model.
Dr Arnout co-founded the Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI), an industry consortium to standardize a language for system level design, and as its president submitted the SystemC language to IEEE. He was vice president of engineering and later senior vice president of marketing at CrossCheck Technology. He also co-founded and later became vice president of engineering of Silvar-Lisco, the first commercial EDA (electronic design automation) company.
Dr Arnout received his PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
