Greg Mawer is an accountant, business and tax advisor, and a director of Accumulate Accountants + Business Advisors.
He founded Accumulate in 2013 (originally as Mawer Consulting). The multi award-winning firm has been trusted by the State Government of Western Australia to deliver workshops on a range of business topics to small business owners in Western Australia, as well as by the Commonwealth to deliver advisory/workshops to business owners in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland. Mr Mawer was also the founder of social enterprise Mawer Money, which aims to generate awareness and improve people’s lives by teaching them the required skills and highlighting the importance of financial literacy in making a better community and world.
Prior to founding his consulting firm, Mr Mawer worked for BGC Contracting (now NRW), initially managing the tax function for the business and later as the project accountant for the Koolyanobbing iron ore mine. He also worked in practice prior to this, at Andreas Walewski Consulting and at Pike and Skinner (now PKF).
Mr Mawer is the advisory board chair of a mining services company, a non-executive director and treasurer of The Last Great Hunt (an internationally renowned collective of six theatre makers), advisory council member of Linkxar (a forward looking global alliance of independent accounting, audit, tax, legal, financial and technology services firms), and a non-executive director & treasurer of the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA.
Mr Mawer holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance and a First Class Honours in Finance (CWA of 81%). He also completed the CPA Program, the CPA Public Practice Program, and is a Registered Tax Agent and Fellow of CPA Australia.
