Dreibergs succeeds Dawson as vaccine commander
Police Commissioner Chris Dawson’s deputy Gary Dreibergs will succeed him as the state’s vaccine commander, as the vaccine rollout reaches school-aged children.
Gary Dreibergs has been WA Police's deputy commissioner of specialist services. He joined the police force in 1983 and was made a deputy in December 2014. Mr Dreibergs has worked in a wide range of operational positions.
In January 2022, Mr Dreibergs became the vaccine commander for Western Australia, as the COVID-19 vaccine rollout reaches school-aged children.
Mr Dreibergs ended his 40-year career with the WA Police Force in June 2022, and joined technology firm Genvis as head of strategic partnerships.
