St Hilda's appoints new principal for 2019
St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls has appointed the current head of the Australian International School in Singapore, Fiona Johnston, as its new principal for 2019.
Fiona Johnston has experience across international, government, non-denominational and faith-based schools in Australia, the United Kingdom and Singapore. She has been chair and/or participant of multiple steering committees, growing and nurturing learning communities, promoting inclusivity, embracing diversity and focussing on the advancement of women in leadership.
Ms Johnston designed and launched the South-East Asia Women in Educational Leadership conferences, held annually in Singapore since 2014, which attracts aspiring women from the education sector globally.
Ms Johnston became the principal of St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls in 2019. She joined the Australian International School in Singapore as a head of year in 2012, became the assistant head of secondary (operations) in 2013 and head of secondary school in 2014. Prior to that, Ms Johnston was a housemaster at the Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Queensland, a Masters of Arts in Music Education from Monash University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Australian Catholic University.
