Support now Cook’s sheep focus
Premier Roger Cook says the call to end live sheep export is wrong but conceded that if he were a member of the federal caucus, he would be bound to support it.
Fatima Payman is a senator for West Australia first elected in 2022. She was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1995 and immigrated with her family to Western Australia in 2003.
Ms Payman was initially a member of the Labor Party. However, she broke ranks with the party in 2024 to voice her opinion on the conflict occurring in the Gaze strip. Later, she crossed the floor to vote for a resolution supporting Australian recognition of Palestinian statehood and then resigned from the Labor Party in July 2024.
In October 2024, Senator Fatima Payman formed a new political party, Australia’s Voice.
