Emma McBride

Emma McBride is an Australian politician and a Labor Party member, representing the Division of Dobell since 2016 after an unsuccessful attempt as a candidate for the same seat in the 2013 election.

After the 2019 federal election, Ms McBride was included in Anthony Albanese's shadow ministry as a shadow assistant minister for mental health and carers. She was appointed deputy chair of the House Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts in December 2020, and of the Select Committee on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in February 2021. Following the Labor Party's victory at the 2022 federal election, Ms McBride became the Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Rural & Regional Health under the Albanese government.

Prior to politics, Ms McBride was a specialist mental health pharmacist at Wyong Hospital and became chief pharmacist in 2008. She was also a director of the Wyong Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank, and a board member of the Central Coast Heart netball team.

Ms McBride holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in Public Sector Management from Flinders University.
