BHP confident of meeting targets
Iron ore production shows no sign of slowing, but getting the ore on the water may be more problematic.
Eddy (Eduard) Haegel has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (first class honours) from the University of Queensland.
He joined BHP BIlliton in April 2006 as chief operating officer of its energy coal division and was subsequently appointed chief planning officer of BHPB/Rio Tinto joint venture in March 2010, vice president of mine production in January 2011, and asset president of Nickel West from March 2015 to July 2021.
Mr Haegel has been a speaker at several mining conferences in Australia and overseas.
