Dr DianMin Chen is a mining engineer with over 35 years of experience in mine construction, operations, management, project development, strategic planning and corporate management. He has held technical, production and management roles within the metals and mining industries in Australia, China and Canada.
Dr Chen was the managing director and non-executive director of Norton Gold Fields. Prior to that, he was the executive director and chief operating officer of CaNickel Mining, and vice president of operations at Minco Silver Corporation. In 2009, Mr Chen was appointed chief operating officer of CITIC Pacific Mining Management, where he was responsible for the development of a large magnetic iron ore mine in WA. He has also worked as general manager and executive director at Sino Jinfeng Mining, a subsidiary of Sino Gold Corporation (now Eldorado Gold Corp), mine manager at Barrick Gold Corp's Darlot and Plutonic operations, and senior geotechnical engineer at Rio Tinto's Northparkes Mines.
