Des Headland is a former Australian Rules footballer who has been involved in a number of Aboriginal businesses.
Mr Headland was selected in the 1998 AFL Draft by the Brisbane Lions. He had a 166-game career playing for Brisbane Lions and Fremantle Dockers, before retiring in 2010.
Mr Headland is the managing director of Headland Corporation, chief executive of Indigenous occupational health provider Spartan First, and a company director of Indigenous-owned and managed business IronMerge.
Mr Headland was selected in July 2013 as a candidate for the Palmer United Party, for the Federal seat of Durack. He was an advisor to Senator Dio Wang, a former senator of Western Australia from the Palmer United Party.
