Dean Hely has over 30 years of experience in corporate reconstructions, insolvency and commercial litigation.
He has been involved in numerous major corporate reconstructions and insolvency administrations, working with insolvency and reconstruction firms such as McGrathNicol, KordaMentha, Pitcher Partners, FTI and Deloitte. Mr Hely has also worked with financial institutions including Westpac Banking Corporation, St George Bank, National Australia Bank Limited, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Bank of Queensland Limited, and other large financiers, providing him with extensive experience in litigation and general corporate matters.
Mr Hely is the managing partner of Lavan, an independent law firm in Perth, and a partner in its restructuring & insolvency team. He was admitted as a partner of Lavan’s predecessor firm, Phillips Fox Perth, in November 1999 where he was deputy managing partner. He then became the deputy managing partner of Lavan in 2002, before becoming managing partner in February 2013.
Mr Hely is chair of Labyrinth Resources, and former chair of Youth Focus where he served on the board for over eight years.
