David Templeman is the Labor Party Member of the Western Australia Legislative Assembly for Mandurah.
He has been the Minister for Local Government, Heritage, Culture and the Arts; and Leader of the House in the McGowan government following Labor's win in the 2017 state election. Following the 2021 state election, Mr Templeman became the Minister for Tourism and relinquished the Local Government portfolio. In the December 2021 cabinet reshuffle, he became the Minister for Culture & The Arts, Sport & Recreation, International Education, Heritage.
Following the resignation of Mr McGowan in June 2023, Mr Templeman kept the same portfolios as Minister for Culture and the Arts, Sport and Recreation, International Education and Heritage under the Cook government.
Prior to Labor's state election win in March 2017, he was Shadow Minister for Local Government, Community Services, Peel and Opposition Whip.
Before entering politics, Mr Templeman was a primary school teacher and served on the Mandurah City Council between 1994 and 2001, including as deputy mayor from 1997.
