David Scanlan specialises in employment and industrial relations law. He provides strategic advice on the legal and industrial issues involved in enterprise bargaining, collective and individual employee disputation, right of entry, employment contracts, occupational health and safety, restructuring and redundancies, employer policies, discrimination and harassment complaints, workplace investigations and privacy.
Mr Scanlan acts and instructs in employment, industrial, safety and discrimination matters in federal and state courts and tribunals. He also has experience in preparing public reports for government, having assisted in conducting and preparing the Amendola Review into the WA Industrial Relations System (2009) and the (then) Australian Building and Construction Commission’s review into Sham Contracting in the Construction Industry (2011).
He has been the special counsel of Bartlett Workplace since 2016, and became the newly-created director of people & culture at St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls in January 2020.
