David MacLean
Judge / District Court of Western Australia
David MacLean is an Aboriginal man whose kinship links are in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, and Mulga Downs Station in particular. He has considerable experience in civil and criminal litigation, as well as working for the Aboriginal Legal Service.
Magistrate MacLean was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1991, and became the first Aboriginal judge appointed to the District Court in Western Australian history.
Mr MacLean was also part of an ATSIC delegation which travelled to Geneva to speak with members of the United Nations Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
