David King graduated from Southampton University (UK) in 1981 with a BSc (hons) degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a graduate engineer in London, and then Norway, primarily on large multi-discipline topside projects. Mr King then joined the industry leaders Earl and Wright, working on jackets and sub-substructures in London and Aberdeen, before becoming involved in subsea engineering in the Gulf of Mexico. He subsequently worked in Perth and New Zealand before settling in Perth in 1991. Mr King held leading roles on major projects with leading operators, consultants, and installation contractors. These roles included cost estimating, feasibility studies, conceptual and detail design of subsea structures, jackets, foundations, drilling units, and topsides facilities on fixed and floating (FPSOs and Semi-submersible drilling rigs) installations. Mr King has a wealth of experience in multi-discipline projects including considerable exposure to the interfaces with drilling, installation, operations, and decommissioning. Mr King also played a leadership role in concept development, project planning, management, execution, corporate procedure development, recruiting, team, and personnel development.
