Organisers of the annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibition at Cottesloe are preparing to run the event at a loss in 2014, the third consecutive year the event has failed to break even.
SCULPTURE by the Sea has opened for its ninth year at Cottesloe Beach this week, and for the first time visitors will be asked to donate a gold coin to keep the free event viable.
