David Grieg is a mining services executive with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector. He is group executive, Australia West for global operator Thiess and chief executive of Perth-based MACA, which Thiess bought in 2022.
As well as buying MACA, Thiess has won contracts with Covalent Lithium and Fortescue Metals Group over the past year. The combined Thiess-MACA business is ranked as the largest mining contractor in WA.
Mr Grieg joined MACA in 2016 and was promoted to chief executive in July 2022, just ahead of the Thiess takeover. He previously worked for Emeco Hodings for more than a decade.
