ANALYSIS: Mark McGowan’s ministerial reshuffle was in many respects a sideshow – real power in the government remains with a small group of ministers and advisers close to the premier.
Dave Coggin is an experienced policy advisor and a former lobbyist.
He has worked for Labor Premier Mark McGowan since 2017, being promoted to policy director in 2021.
Past roles included being a director of Connect Government Relations, public affairs manager at First Quantum Minerals, and policy advisor to former Labor Premier Alan Carpenter.
