Darren Hardy has been with Mineral Resources since April 2018, initially as general manager before being appointed project director in June 2020, acting chief executive of its energy division in April 2023, and formally as chief executive of energy in June 2023.

Prior to Mineral Resources, Mr Hardy spent over 7.5 years at Roy Hill Holdings as manager of construction rail and a registered mine manager. He was also a project manager of the Boddington Joint Venture, area manager of Hancock Prospecting, infrastructure construction manager and acting site manager of Fluor, senior project engineer of UGL Resources, and area construction manager of Newmont Boddington Gold Mine.
