Daniel Smith is a leading government relations and strategic communications practitioner, and a trusted advisor to people at the highest levels of government and industry.
He leads a team of experienced government relations, media and community engagement specialists at CGM Communications (formerly Campaign Capital), a 100 per cent West Australian-owned strategic communications consultancy.
Mr Smith was the deputy chief policy advisor in the Carpenter Labor Government, and was a senior advisor in the Gallop Government, specialising in economic policy and resources development. Prior to founding Campaign Capital in 2011, he was Western Australian general manager of CPR, a national Labor-aligned government relations firm. Mr Smith has worked on stakeholder engagement and communications strategies for some of Western Australia’s highest profile private, public and community sector organisations. He was assistant director on WA Labor’s successful 2017 state election campaign, with responsibilities for research and advertising.
