Craig Colvin is a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers. He is a Perth-based Federal Court Judge with extensive experience in commercial and civil disputes, particularly in the areas of economic regulation.
He was former president of the Western Australian Bar Association, Trustee Member of the MLC Foundation, president of the Australian Bar Association, and director of the Law Council of Australia.
In February 2021, Justice Colvin was appointed by the Commonwealth Attorney General as a part-time commissioner at the Australian Law Reform Commission for the review the legislative framework for corporations and financial services regulation. He will oversee the ALRC’s examination of the complexity of financial services laws, and recommendations for improved clarity and transparency.
