Corene Baird-Coetzer has worked as an administrator in the legal profession since 1991 when she started at D'Alessandro & Associates. She has been the Office Manager of various law firms since 1995. After moving to Marks & Sands in 1994 (known then as Marks Healy Sands and now known as Culshaw Miller), Corene then moved on in 2000 to be the Office/IT Manager at Blakiston & Crabb (now Gilbert + Tobin) which was a position she held for 8.5 years. In November 2008 she joined Maxim Litigation Consultants as their Office/Practice Manager and was responsible for their smooth integration with Lavan Legal in April 2012. Since leaving Lavan Legal in September 2014 she has set up her own consultancy business assisting practices with all aspects of legal practice management and client development. She was lured back into a full-time position in 1995 to assist with the launch of a global law firm Hogan Lovells in Australia as their practice manager of the Australian operations in Sydney and Perth. In 2016 she joined Murfett Legal.
Corene has been a member of the Law Society of WA's Law Office Management section since 1996 and has sat on the actual Law Office Management Committee since 2002 (as Convenor since 2003). As part of this role, Corene is actively involved in co-ordinating an array of events and initiatives through the Committee for the law office managers and legal support executives of Western Australia. Corene has also been responsible for organising the biennial Law Office Management Expo and other networking events for the members of this section of the Society.
Corene Baird-Coetzer has a wealth of legal knowledge having worked as an administrator in the legal profession since 1991 and as an office manager of various law firms since 1995. In September 2014, she set up her own consultancy business assisting practices with all aspects of legal practice management and client development. However, after successfully establishing her consulting business, Ms Baird-Coetzer was a member of the Law Society of WA’s Law Office Management section from 1996 and sat on the Law Office Management Committee since 2002 (as Convenor since 2003). As part of this role, she was actively involved in coordinating an array of events and initiatives through the Committee for the law office managers and legal support executives of Western Australia. She was also responsible for organising the biennial Law Office Management Expo and other networking events for the members of this section of the Society. Ms Baird-Coetzer is a member of the Legal Practice Section of the Law Council of Australia and sits as the WA representative for the Australian Law Management Group. She is also a member of the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA) and the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
