Claire Tota has been practicing law for four years, joining HBA Legal in 2012 from a small commercial firm. She became a partner of HBA Legal in July 2020. Ms Tota had gained in-house experience in contracts and procurement at Argyle Diamonds Underground Project in Perth. A top-of-the-class student at Notre Dame University (LLB), she twice achieved Letter of Commendation from the Dean. Ms Tota advises self-insured licensees and third party claims managers, often involved at pre-litigation stage as well as when matters proceed to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (or Federal Court if appealed). She also manages matters pursued through WorkCover WA and at the District Court. Her expertise in federal workers’ compensation, WA workers’ compensation and public liability maintains a focus on commercial considerations. Ms Tota advises on vocational rehabilitation and return-to-work options, future claims management and resolution strategies as part of workers’ compensation matters.
