Claire Petersen
Claire Petersen was appointed a partner in the reconstruction, recovery and insolvency team at Lavan in July 2016. She practises in banking and finance recovery, as well as corporate insolvency, advising regularly on administrations, liquidations, receiverships, enforcement strategies and related litigation. Ms Petersen was seconded as in-house counsel to National Australia Bank where she was responsible for advising the bank’s strategic business services team on enforcement and recovery issues including strategy, as well as advising on dispute resolution and commercial litigation for the Western Australian region.
She acted in proceedings against the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and on behalf of professional associations in regulatory and disciplinary proceedings. Her experience extends to conducting litigation in all of the State and Territory Courts as well as the Federal Court and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
