Christopher Barter is a managing partner and co-founder of King River Capital.
He had previously spent 19 years at Goldman Sachs where he was based in Frankfurt, London and Moscow. Mr Barter was chief executive of Russia and CIS from 2007 to 2012 and was responsible for the securities, investment banking and private equity investing activities. He built the bank and broker-dealer operations, established many key business and political relationships, and led many of its landmark investments in the region. Prior to that, his roles at Goldman Sachs included co-head of the European Financial Institutions Group (2003-2007) and head of the European Insurance and Pension Fund Industry Group (1998- 2003). He became a managing director in 2000 and a partner in 2004.
