Christina Matthews has been chief executive of the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) from December 2011 to March 2024.
Prior to the WACA, Ms Matthews was general manager of commercial operations and communication at Cricket New South Wales where she was responsible for strategic direction, managing partnerships with sponsors, rights holders and suppliers, government relations, event management and an active role in the development of the Blacktown training facility. She was also the acting chief executive of the Association for prolonged periods. Prior to Cricket NSW, Ms Matthews was the general manager of Sydney Grade Cricket club Balmain for three years and also worked for Women's Cricket Australia, Women's Hockey Australia and the Victorian Football Association.
Ms Matthews kept wickets in 20 Tests and 47 one-day international matches for Australia between 1984 and 1995, including two World Cups in 1988 and 1993, and was the Southern Stars' Vice Captain from 1991 to 1993. She has also served in a number of off-field roles for the Australian women's team including as manager, assistant coach, and chair of the Cricket Australia Selection Panel.
Ms Matthews is a finalist in the Sport Award category of the 2019 Western Australian Of The Year Awards. She was inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame in 2023.
