Catherine Wheeler has more than 20 years of experience in commercial practice with a focus on property, banking and finance, and local government. Her experience base includes acting for major corporate and statutory clients in relation to acquisitions and disposals, property development, project structuring, joint ventures, commercial, retail and residential leasing and leasing of vested land, property due diligence, complex conveyancing and land tenure. She also provides advice in relation to rights and interests in crown and freehold land including removal of Crown Grant in Trust, prescriptive easements and adverse possession. Ms Wheeler also has broad banking and finance experience which extends from documenting finance transactions to forced sales and workouts, insolvency and personal property securities. She is highly regarded by her peers as a WA property sector specialist, and was Recommended in Doyles Guide to Leading WA Property Lawyers 2015. Ms Wheeler has also been named in Best Lawyers in Australia 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 for Real Property Law by Best Lawyers International, as well as 2017/18 and 2018/19 for Leasing Law. She was named 2019 Perth Lawyer of the Year for Leasing Law.
