Infrastructure WA to keep board
The federal government is adopting a swathe of reforms recommended by Infrastructure WA chair Nicole Lockwood but the local body will not be directly affected.
Catherine King is an Australian politician and a Labor Party member, representing the division of Ballarat since 2001.
Ms King had briefly served as a minister in the Gillard and Rudd Governments in 2013. She was Shadow Minister of Health from 2013 to 2019; and Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development since 2019. Following the Labor Party's victory at the 2022 federal election, Ms King retained her portfolios and was appointed Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government under the Albanese government.
Prior to politics, Ms King was a social worker at Ballarat Children's Homes and Family Services from 1988 to 1992. She was named Victorian Young Achiever of the Year in the field of community services in 1991.
