Caroline Keats is a legally qualified corporate executive and business leader with over 20 years of commercial and operational experience with assets in foreign jurisdictions, particularly Africa. She has effectively liaised with foreign governments to improve their understanding about operational and Australian corporate requirements; and has facilitated outcomes beneficial to mining projects, local communities and the local economy.
Prior to becoming the managing director of Kopore Metals in October 2021, Ms Keats was the chief executive and managing director of Tiger Resources. For 15 years, she worked in the mining industry within Australia and in foreign jurisdictions, in various capacities including as in-house corporate counsel and as external counsel while at top-tier national and boutique mining law firms. Her responsibilities ranged from advising management and the board in all areas of development and operations, contract negotiations, spearheading debt and off-take funding agreements, corporate advisory, M&A, governance, CSR and governmental relations. At MRX Technologies, a Siemens business, Ms Keats had a broad remit which included the negotiations and purchase by Siemens of MRX Technologies when it was a privately-owned company.
