Bronte Howson became chief executive of Automotive Holdings Group in 2000 and joined the board as managing director in 2007. In August 2016, it was announced that he was stepping down as head of the company at the end of 2016 in favour of former Inchcape financial director John McConnell but would remain with AHG as special counsel until September 2017. Mr Howson joined AHG in 1988 as general manager, AMCAP distribution and logistics centre, after he sold his own automotive parts business to the group. Mr Howson is president and a life member of the East Perth Football Club, and has been awarded honorary life membership of not-for-profit disability service provider Rocky Bay. In 2016, Mr Howson was awarded the Medal in the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday honours list for services to the automotive industry and to charities. Mr Howson became dealer principal of Audi Centre Perth in 2018.
