Scentre investors hit out against exec pay
Investors in Westfield-owners Scentre Group have served a 'first strike' on executives' pay, after the company leaders produced a full-year loss and reduced final dividend.
Brian Schwartz AM is a non-executive director and chair of Scentre. In a career with Ernst & Young Australia spanning over 25 years, he rose to the positions of chair from 1996-1998 and chief executive from 1998-2004. From 2005 to 2009, Mr Schwartz was the chief executive of Investec Bank (Australia).
He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
In 2001, Mr Schwartz was named “Leading CEO for the Advancement of Women” by the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency, recognising his efforts in increasing female participation at senior management levels.
In 2004, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to business and commerce particularly in the field of accountancy, and to the community through support for the development of sporting, educational, cultural and charitable organisations.
