Barry Fehlberg has 50 years of experience in exploration for gold, base metals, diamonds and iron ore. He served as director of public listed exploration and mining companies since 1978. His work has focused on discovery-based exploration for nickel, gold, diamonds and iron ore in Australia and epithermal gold in Nevada, USA. Mr Fehlberg has worked extensively in the East and West Kimberley provinces, the Pilbara region and the Archaean Yilgarn block. His work has resulted in the discovery and identification of a number of mineral and diamond deposits with the Bellevue, Mt Gibson and Bullabuling gold deposits all having advanced to commercial production. He was the foundation exploration director of United Minerals Corporation NL (UMC) in 2003 where he directed the team that discovered and delineated the Railway Iron Ore Deposit. This company was taken over by BHP Billiton in 2010 in a $204 million transaction. Mr Fehlberg is an Honours Geology graduate of the University of Adelaide.
