Axel Cziesche holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering degrees, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management. He has over 35 years of project management and project delivery experience, from concept through to commissioning in the power, mining and minerals processing industries. His roles across his career have been varied and included being project engineer, project manager, senior project manager, project director and client’s representative. For more than 10 years, Mr Cziesche Axel was a project director contracted to WorleyParsons. The portfolio of projects managed ranged in value from $500m to $3 billion, primarily “Pit to Port” projects in the iron ore Industry. Mr Cziesche had worked for Rio Tinto, BHP, Western Mining (WMC) and was seconded to Vale to undertake a Value Optimisation study reducing Vale’s CAPEX down from $2.5 billion down to $2 billion, by optimising and restructuring their Sao’ Luis Port in Brazil. His expertise includes all aspects of project management, study management, development of Client PMO’s and MEGA project delivery (more than $3 billion), Value Improvement Processes and subsequent project CAPEX reductions.
