Annie Fogarty AM and her husband Brett established the Fogarty Foundation in 2000, and she has been the executive chair since inception.
Having graduated with an Arts degree from the University of Western Australia, her work in marketing and public relations has primarily been in the tourism and arts sectors. She was involved in a number of boards and committees including Roseworth Primary School, Fremantle Press, Advisory Groups for the Centre for Social Impact, LLEAP – Leading Learning in Education and Philanthropy, and the ECU Fogarty Learning Centre.
Mrs Fogarty was appointed an inaugural Ambassador for Children and Young People and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2013 for her work in the advancement of education in Western Australia. She has received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from UWA and an Honorary Doctorate of Education from Edith Cowan University.
Mrs Fogarty was also named WA Australian of the Year 2020 for her work in education advocacy.
