Anne Furey provides specialist consulting services supporting business and industry to successfully access government grants. In addition to writing grant funding applications, she also assists clients with award applications, business and commercialisation planning, program & policy development, facilitation of in-house workshops, and a wide range of writing and editing functions. Ms Furey has been successful in writing award applications for clients for the Innovator of the Year program, the 40Under40 Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, and other key award programs. Ms Furey studied Agribusiness (Aquaculture) to Honours level at Curtin University in Western Australia and has significant experience in applied research, in Government and with the small and medium enterprise sector. Prior to forming GrantSmart in 2006, she worked within State and Federal Governments including the Department of Agriculture and Food WA as a research scientist, and in the Trade and Development Directorate as international trade policy officer. During this time, she provided policy advice and briefings to the Minister on various trade policy issues as well as representing the interests of the WA Agriculture and Food sector to the State and Federal Governments, and the negotiating teams in the successful negotiation of Free Trade Agreements with the US and Thailand. Ms Furey has also worked with AusIndustry, the Federal Government's key agency for delivering government grants, services and information that support industry, research and innovation, providing a unique insight into the workings of government and the assessment process. She is a WA Committee Member of The Licensed Executive Society - Australia & New Zealand (LESANZ), a WA Committee Member for Springboard Enterprises Australia, and was a former committee member of Variety WA Toy Bank.
