Large charities tilt toward boards fees
At what point should not-for-profit organisations start paying fees to their board of directors?
Dr Angus Buchanan is an Associate Professor and Head of School at the School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work at Curtin University. He has been an occupational therapist for the past 32 years and worked for 16 years at the Disability Services Commission where he held senior management and leadership roles. Dr Buchanan is an active and published researcher focussing on citizenship, inclusion and social participation of adults with disabilities within communities. He is an active member of the Australasian Society of Intellectual Disability (ASID) and was appointed vice president of Asia Pacific for the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD). As well has having a strong research background in contemporary disability practice, Dr Buchanan has an extensive senior executive experience of working within the disability sector in Western Australia across policy, program and operational areas.
