Dr Andrew Stewart is an economic geologist with over 20 years of base and precious-metal exploration experience throughout Southeast and Central Asia, Australia, South America, and Europe. He has particular expertise in porphyry copper-gold and epithermal gold deposits, but has worked across a diverse range of commodities. He is also particularly experienced in capital markets and corporate management.
During his time at Ivanhoe Mines and Vale, Dr Stewart held technical and management positions in Mongolia and Indonesia and has been involved in several greenfield discoveries. He joined Xanadu Mines in 2010 as chief geologist, leading the gold and base metals project generation & evaluation team in Mongolia, before becoming managing director and chief executive in 2016.
Dr Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science (with Honours) from Macquarie University, and a PhD from the Centre of Ore Deposits and Exploration Studies at the University of Tasmania.
