Kaolin miner launches $22m IPO
Rockingham-based WA Kaolin has kicked off a capital raising to fund the scale-up of its WA operations; it joins several companies planning to mine the specialist industrial mineral.
Andrew Sorensen has more than 30 years of experience in operations management across a broad range of industries. He holds a Bachelors degree in Applied Science (Information Management) and a Masters of Business Administration.
Mr Sorensen joined WA Kaolin in 2006 and was general manager and operations director prior to becoming chief executive in October 2019. Prior to WA Kaolin, he held various senior leadership positions including as general manager and vice president.

Rockingham-based WA Kaolin has kicked off a capital raising to fund the scale-up of its WA operations; it joins several companies planning to mine the specialist industrial mineral.
WA Kaolin has had a positive start to its first day of trading after raising $22 million from its initial public offering, with its share price closing up 25 per cent.
Lynas Rare Earths and WA Kaolin have managed to progress their respective Western Australian projects during a quarter fraught with shipping delays.
The chemical company has bought the industrial property from mining group WA Kaolin, which will lease back the site on a peppercorn basis.
