Managing Director / Talisman Mining

Andrew Munckton is an experienced mining executive & geologist who has held senior management roles at ASX-listed companies and gold operations in a career spanning more than 30 years.

Mr Munckton became the inaugural managing director of Talisman Mining in August 2023. Prior to that, he was managing director of a junior gold and base metals exploration and development company, Syndicated Metals, where he was focussed on leading the acquisition and exploration of the Monument Gold Project in Western Australia which is adjacent to Dacian Gold’s Mount Morgans gold mine. Mr Munckton was also managing director at Avalon Minerals, general manager of operations at Gindalbie Metals, general manager of strategic development at Placer Dome Asia Pacific, and general manager of the Kanowna Belle and Kundana gold mines, now owned by Northern Star Resources. As general manager of operations at Gindalbie Metals, he oversaw the development of the Karara Iron Ore Project including securing major Joint Venture partner, Ansteel, of China and completion of a Bankable Feasibility Study on Direct Shipping and magnetite concentrate projects up to $2.7 billion.

Mr Munckton holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Western Australia, is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
