Andrew Davidson is a partner in the Perth office of HWL Ebsworth, specialising in commercial litigation and insurance. He joined HWL Ebsworth from Downings Legal where he was a partner for 13 years. Mr Davidson acts on behalf of a number of local, national and overseas companies, government agencies and insurers on a wide range of matters including many connected with the construction, energy and finance sectors. Mr Davidson has acted on many complex litigation matters including construction disputes relating to variations, prolongation, defective design and workmanship and payment claims; securities advice and investments, in particular negligent investment advice relating to collateralised debt obligations and margin lending arrangements; complaints of misconduct in schools, sporting and religious organisations; and advising and representing board of public companies on their obligation under the Corporations Act and with respect to allegations of misleading and deceptive conduct and negligence. Mr Davidson acts for several domestic and international insurers on a wide range of risks including energy, construction, professional indemnity, D&O, property, casualty and personal Injury. He also advises on commercial contracts especially insurance, limitation of liability and indemnity provisions. Mr Davidson has significant experience in all jurisdictions, mediations, arbitrations and adjudications and has acted as counsel in the Crime and Corruption Commission.
