Crowd-funded restaurant
The team behind successful North Perth small bar The Classroom has launched a crowd-funding campaign to develop a second venue in Northbridge.
Andrew Bennett is a former journalist who has played an entrepreneurial role in Perth's hospitality scene.
A co-owner of Cocktail Gastronomy which founded the small bar The Classroom, one of the first small bars to open under legislation providing for that licence, and restaurant Lucky Chan's Laundry and Noodlebar in Northbridge, the first such venue to be crowdfunded in a campaign that began in 2014, he has also been a professional communications advisor.
In June 2022, Mr Bennett became the deputy chief of staff to the co-chair's office of Tattarang and Minderoo Foundation, where he provides advisory and support services to Nicola Forrest AO. He had been the senior communications manager of Tattarang for 21 months prior to those appointments.
