Activ granted support to transition
Seven of Activ Foundation’s worksites which were due to close in July will stay open for another 18 months after the federal government offered a $7.8 million lifeline.
Amanda Rishworth is an Australian politician and a member of the Australian Labor Party, representing the division of Kingston in South Australia since 2007.
Ms Rishworth was the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Health in the Shorten Shadow Ministry in 2013, promoted to Shadow Assistant Minister for Education in June 2014, Shadow Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Shadow Minister for Defence Personnel in 2016, and Shadow Minister for Early Childhood Education and Development in 2017. Following the Labor Party's victory at the 2022 federal election, Ms Rishworth became the Minister for Social Services under the Albanese government.
Prior to politics, Ms Rishworth was a practising psychologist, working in the delivery of mental health care to the community.
She holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.
